Carter Mudge brings a longstanding commitment of community service to the San Clemente Lifeguard and Junior Guard Foundation. He has been a leader in the community, serving as a Judge pro tem for the Orange County Superior Court, Vestryman for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Director of the Coastal Municipal Water District and Vice-President of the Palisades PTA.
He is currently a Director of both the San Clemente Lifeguard and Junior Guard Foundation and the San Clemente Educational Foundation, which provides educational support and funding to programs for students at San Clemente High School.
He was born and raised in South Laguna and earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and his law degree from the University of San Diego. He was a lifeguard for ten years and was a top doryman for San Clemente for 20 years, winning the Catalina Classic Dory Race six times and is still the current record holder for the crossing.
Carter has been married to his wife Cragan for over 20 years and they have three teen-age sons, two of whom are San Clemente City Lifeguards.
